"Sumi-E" Japanese/Chinese Brush Painting Workshop At Ikebana Flower

Nashua, NH - A one-day Introductory Workshop in brush painting, includes calligraphy and the painting of bamboo (sumi-e) will be demonstrated and taught by Bruce Iverson. He has studied with three Chinese master brush painters.

Mr. Iverson's work has been exhibited in many juried regional shows and is part of private collections in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

No art experience is necessary. This workshop is for beginners interested in learning and using the tools and techniques of Asian watercolor painting in ink and in color. Subjects covered will include calligraphy and the painting of traditional subject such as bamboo.

You will leave the workshop with the ability to work on your own and to continue with more advanced subjects. Skills acquired can easily be adapted to other art forms such as ceramics, fabric decoration, and Feng Shui. Against a backdrop of meditative music, brush painting is a relaxing way to expand your creative abilities and take part in a several thousand year old tradition.

The cost for the whole-day workshop is $125 and includes all the materials to be used (brush, ink, paper, etc.)
